Climbing above the scree we crossed massive snowfields, skirting all the
way around Crean lake, which was almost completely frozen over.
Eventually we reached a steep descent of snow, of approximately a 65
degree angle, in a valley, over 600 feet high. These numbers have
been verified – no fish story is this.
The snow shoot was totally unexpected. We could see that someone had
descended by sliding down earlier in the day, and Charlie was the first
to go sliding. We all followed, and each and every one of us slid down
the full 600 feet. Were pretty sure Claire had the most fun of all of
us. It was such a rush! The snow was soft and powdery, and you could
go as fast or as slow as you wanted.
