Traverse team gets ready

TUESDAY 6PM:

Some individuals on ship are experiencing discomfort from sea sickness
today. Perhaps it’s because we spent quite a bit of time below deck in
lectures and meetings today. The weather is supposed to continue to be
nice tomorrow, but with “very bad” weather Thursday. So, we’re cramming
in as many lectures and meetings as possible today and tomorrow.

Those of us who are traversing the peninsula expect to set off Friday
morning. Today, we practiced pitching our tents both indoors and
outdoors in windy conditions. We also identified and sorted all our
gear, as a lot of it was sent down by container to be here for our
arrival. We’re hoping the weather improves for the traverse on Friday.
