MONDAY, November 10th 7PM
It was a beautiful day for boarding the ship, and after being shown to
our berths and meeting the rest of my ship team on board, we celebrated
with the breaking open of a bottle of Champagne to truly launch the
beginning of the expedition.
Once we were settled in on the ship, we met for a safety briefing, as we
were now about to enter the most treacherous seas on earth, and it is
compulsory for everybody to learn evacuation procedures in the event of
any mishaps as we journey south. It was very informative, but also very
entertaining. All of our expedition staff members on board the ship are
great fun, and totally committed to the objective of the voyage. Our
first meeting began by having all of the ship expedition team introduce
themselves, and their role on ship to the rest of the team. From the
expedition (names and jobs here) made everyone feel at ease. Im so
relieved to have now all the team together for the first time -
including science, education, traverse team, television crews, Captain
and support staff working as one.
