Day 25, Look, it''s the Theils mountains

Day 25

6th, Dec, 2007
84.3695S,086.1305W
Distance to Pole:623 km
altitude 1573m

Look, it’s the Theil mountains.

A roar from behind, it was Jon. “look Pat it’s the Theils mountain range.” The excitement of seeing them was amazing for all the team. We were still 125km or 5 days skiing away. For the last 24 days our only point of reference was a way point their. We had gone through some bad days getting to here. Wind, blizzards, freezing temperatures and wondering all the time if our course was right, we had no reference point to lock onto. In every direction it was just a desert landscape. Now with a sense of releaf we know were on course to the Pole. Another good reason for being excited about getting there is, that we have another rest day. Roll on Theils.

All the team are in goods spirits.
