It seems weird knowing it is December, we can imagine all of you starting to get ready for Christmas, buying presents, digging out decorations from the loft, admiring the festive displays in Brown Thomas. We imagine our presents will be somewhat late this year as we will be as far away from Santa as you can get. Most of all though we are dreaming of Christmas dinner, which we won’t have, but at least we’ll have a white Christmas.

Talking of presents, top of Shaun’s wish list is a Troll who can play Lili Marlene on the piano. Jonathon, more conventionally only wants clean underwear, he’s run out and is bored of having to boil them on the stove.

And now onto food, we thought you might be interested in what we ate this evening. Jonathon had ‘pasta provence’ in a herbal sauce with added cheese and butter to bolster the fat content, Shaun had ‘spaghetti bolognese.’ These both come in freeze dried packs, to which we need to add boiling water, we get this from melting snow. This melting ritual takes us a about 2 hours a day – we can’t go far without water.

Keeping in the spirit of Christmas, we are decorating the inside of our tent with graffiti, unfortunately we only have two colours.
