Day 44. Christmas on ice....

Day 44 25 December

Christmas day on ice…..

Position: S87.3831, W083.4501
Temperature: -19c to -27c
Weather: Very windy and cold, blue skies, good snow, lots of sastrugi.

Also a lot of uphill climbs.

Another milestone. Now under 300km.

293 km to go 846 km complete. Still a long way carrying injuries. We are very tired tonight.

Tonight we think of all of those we love and that loves us.

Its a hard life being an adventurer as it takes you away from home on all types of special occasions, when most normal people would be at home.

For Christmas dinner tonight we had a boil in the bag dinner and nothing else special and wished we could be at home enjoying a home cooked meal and Christmas day with our families.

Happy Christmas.

We have another 3 days before our rest day and we are all looking forward to it. Especially I’m looking forward to seeing what Shaun and Jon are planning for our special dinner .

The last few days have been hard on all the team and everyone is suffering from exhaustion.

Injuries/ tired
Injuries are starting to flare up Jon is finding it hard to breath due to aggravating an injury he had in March when he cracked 2 ribs. Shaun’s shoulder is giving trouble, Clare is the only one of us that is not carrying an injury at the moment and is going extremely well.
