For some of you who may not know, the ‘supported’ route that the team has taken is to pick up a re-supply point at Thiel Mountains Depot. This maybe one of two stops overall, they may get a drop about 10 days out from the Pole as well (unconfirmed). Unsupported teams will go straight along the red line on the map to the pole from Hercules Inlet.

Pat rang last night and they were all in great form knowing they had a rest day tomorrow and the chance to re-stock their dwindling supplies. They are hoping to send back footage and images on the twin otter with their waste and spent gear.

He was wondering about Christmas here and whether or not they were missing anything and of course i said no.

I gave them warm wishes from all followers here in ireland and around the world.

Kevin Dempsey, another irishman on antarctica has just started his last degree to the pole. Kevin was in contact with us here just before he left to get an update on Pat and talk about some of the techie stuff. We wish him every success, you can view his dispatches here
