Time to relax!!
We have now been 20 days on the move and have decided to give our bodies time to take a break from the hard work of been hammered by the Antarctic winds and cold today. We all rose late, taking in an extra four hours rest this morning. It is also time to reflect on our progress, how we are doing and how the rest of the expedition is to continue. Everybody is busy sorting out gear for the next leg of our journey. Our next rest will be over 200 km away so hopefully we will get another break in 9 to 10 days. Jon has been busy with his plan to get a team photo set up and has also washed his underpants today, He has only two. Shaun has rang Jack his son and was delighted to have made contact with home, after missing him last week. Clare and Freddy are writing up their diaries. So for all you kids out there, don’t forget to look in on Freddies diary, he is really having a hard time and had a little accident the other day. I have been very busy myself as well, doing repairs to the tent, planning out the next section of the route and having a team meeting. We also had our restday social gathering in my tent to discuss logistics. Rest days go by so fast, we are looking forward to the next one already. In between however, we have a lot of hard work to do.
