Day 13 - can't see a thing!

Day 13 - can't see a thing!

Camp: Hannah (Shaun’s niece)
Date: 24/11/07
Position: S81.9448, W082.4336
Temperature: -13c
Weather: Whiteout
Distance today: 17.92km
Distance to Pole: 899.6 km

Our 1st day of no contrast (light cannot penetrate the low cloud and therefore you cannot tell the difference between the sky and the ground) additionally we had 2cm of fresh snow through which we had to drag our sledges. Just beginning to wonder if the Gods will ever be with us, so far Antarctica has thrown everything at us, lets hope it has forgotten about the -40c temperatures and 200kph winds that it has in its arsenal!

Today we covered 17.9km over 6 hours, we stopped early to effect repairs to a broken sled cover and tent pole that broke when a sled fell over whilst we climbed some large sastrugi.
