Tango & Caminito

Tango & Caminito

30th November

With another late night catching up on us breakfast was just about made before meeting the Irish ambassador to Argentina amongst other nations here in SA. We then headed off on a City tour to get a feel for the place and maybe get some inside knowledge on the sights and history. After visiting Eva Peron’s resting place in Recoleta,we ended our tour with a quick walk through the famous Caminito where tango was born and finally in the sunday market of San Telmo which was a fantastic experience of jewelry, antiques, performers and music through a least 10 blocks of narrow streets back toward the hotel. A much needed power nap was required to get going again for we had a tango show to attend at 8pm. Off we went on a coach and were seated in a old theatre style building of Carlos Gardel. The food was great and the show excellent. Our tour guide on the way back was Ned Falvey, now honorary cousin of Pat, he had us all in stitches. Their was many back at the lobby of the hotel as this was it, the finale over a few beverages before heading home from an adventure of many facets taking in a variety of experiences.
