Images uploaded & Crossing the Drake Passage

November 25th

We have uploaded a few sets of images from our travels, check out the
news section and you will find them on the righthand side. Also some
video clips should be there.

Our ship the Ushuaia has now departed the South Shetlands for the open
waters of the imfamous drake passage. The rolling has started and we
were warned to hold on tight, although the conditions are ok some people
have dissappeared to their berths already and laptops and cups etc are
to be held down.

We have 2 more days a sea after what has been a great voyage of many
facets. Its not over yet but so far its been fantastic, especially for
me to go to some new area´s and landing places. Last night most stayed
out in the elements at Dorian Bay right beside a colony of Gentoo´s.
This morning it snowed hard and wind picked up giving them all a taster
of what its like when things get tough. All came back beaming. Some of
us stayed on the ship for a quiet night!!

Happy Feet was our movie last night, Adults only. It was great to see
that most of the young adults and kids were resting. The rolling got
very bad last night late with alot of people struggling to sleep. The
bar was quiet with under ten participants making use of the 2nd last
night aboard the Ushuaia. My room in particular was plagued with
slamming shower gels and shampoo´s flaking around the bathroom and the
sudden dropping motion of the bow after cresting a large wave which it
seems affected everyone on numerous occassions. Master&Commander came to
mind although this is tame. We have listing (swinging motion) of up to
15 degrees at the moment, most have got used to it but its quite funny
to see passengers trying to walk around. Hopefully we wont have any
injuries!!

Next stop the Beagle Channel for Captains dinner in just over 24 hours.

A special mention to Lorraine and the girls in the expedition office who
have been working behind the scenes with our webmaster Matt ensuring you
get to follow our progress. Ye kick ass!!
