24th November 0915am
We have just arrived at Paradise Bay and are about to land at Argentine
owned Almirante Brown station. Beside there is a hill giving great views
and then some zodiac cruises to see the Blue eyed Comorants nesting on
the cliffs. This morning some got up after 4am to see the stunning
Gerlache Strait with high iced up cliffs surrounding us espe4cially when
we turned in to Paradise Bay. It was snowing but visibilty was fairly
good. Now it is clearing a little and we are just being called for our
third and final continental landing as we did 2 yesterday, the best
being Esperanza where over 40 Argentine army personel have not
seen any vistors for nearly 10months! They were very warm and invited us
in for coffee and a tour of the station. The students played their
hearts out with the local kids, sledding and a football game, with
Argetntina winning. They have to bring families to improve quality of
live and our ship gave them fresh fruit which they hadnt had in ages.
Must go radios on full belt around me landings in progress!
